Indian Army: During the night of 06-07 May 2025, Pakistan Army resorted to arbitrary firing including Artillery shelling from posts across the Line of Control and IB opposite J&K. Three innocent civilians lost their lives in indiscriminate firing/shelling.
Indian Army are responding in proportionate manner.
Sources tell PTI that strikes were on JeM headquarters in Bahawalpur and LeT HQ in Muridke, both in Pakistan Punjab.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to all three chiefs after Operation Sindoor was conducted late at night and discussed the situation, ANI reports.

Politicians from across party lines rallied around to laud missile strikes carried out by Indian armed forces on nine terror targets in Pakistan under 'Operation Sindoor', posting patriotic slogans of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' and 'Jai Hind' on their social media handles.
"Bharat Mata ki Jai," said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath greeted Operation Sindoor with "Jai Hind" and "Jai Hind ki Sena".
Maharashtra Deputy CM and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde posted on X, "Jai Hind. Operation Sindoor."
Congress leader Randeep Surjewala echoed, posting "Jai Hind." LJP (Ram Vilas) leader and Union minister Chirag Paswan said, "Satyamev Jayate. Jai Hind ki Sena."

Nationalist Congress Party (SP) president Sharad Pawar on Wednesday hailed Indian armed forces for giving a "befitting reply" to the Pahalgam terror attack by targeting terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir through Operation Sindoor.
In a post on X, Pawar, a former defence minister, said at around 1.30 am India conducted successful airstrikes at nine locations and exacted revenge. "Congratulations to Indian soldiers for safeguarding the sovereignty of the country and securing its citizens by giving a befitting reply to the Pahalgam attack," the senior politician said. The armed forces carried out precision strikes without harming the Pakistani armed forces or its citizens, he noted. "The country is proud of our armed forces," Pawar said.

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday applauded the government and expressed solidarity with the armed forces, while asserting that India has behaved in a manner that would not justify further expansion of the conflict.
Tharoor also said it time for all concerned to act wisely to prevent uncontrolled escalation.
Sharing an article he wrote last week, Tharoor said in a post on X, "A set of calibrated, calculated, precise strikes against terror targets. Exactly what I had advocated last week: hit hard, hit smart. I applaud the government and stand solidly with our armed forces."
"At the same time we have behaved in a manner that would not justify further expansion of the conflict. We have made our point and acted in self-defence," the former Union minister said.
Time for all concerned to act wisely to prevent uncontrolled escalation, Tharoor added.

Shivamogga, DHNS: Reacting to Operation Sindoor, Sumathi, mother of Manjunath Rao, who was killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, told media persons that the Centre has taken the right step as a head of the family would do. "Unarmed civilians must not be attacked under any circumstance. Let terrorists fight with our soldiers now," she said.
She further said that she was confident the Centre would react to the Pahalgam attack in a right manner.
She said she was very much disappointed that people of the country are unable to visit another state within the country while many are visiting foreign countries like they were neighbouring cities. She said that it must end, and added that she is confdient the government would take the right steps in this regard.
Air India on Wednesday cancelled flights to and from nine airports, including Srinagar and Amritsar, till early morning of May 10.
The announcement comes in the wake of Operation Sindoor under which armed forces launched missile attacks against Pakistan in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack last month that had killed 26 people.
"Air India flights to and from the following stations, Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot, are being cancelled till 0529 hrs IST on 10 May following a notification from aviation authorities on the closure of these airports," the airline said.

Karachi: Pakistan's benchmark share index opened down 5.78 per cent on Wednesday, hours after military strikes by India on multiple locations in the country.
India said it had hit nine Pakistani sites that housed "terrorist infrastructure", and Islamabad said eight people had died in the strikes targeting six locations.
India said the action was a response to an attack in Indian Kashmir on April 22 that killed 26 people, and blamed it on Islamabad. Pakistan had denied involvement but said it would hit back if attacked.

Delhi: Delhi BJP leaders hailed 'Operation Sindoor' by posting ''Bharat Mata Ki Jai'' slogans on their social media handles, after India's targeted strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and PoK early Wednesday.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta posted "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" on her X handle, sharing a poster of 'Operation Sindoor'.
"I salute the Indian armed forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as their decision and decisive power has honoured the 140 crore Indians.
"Operation Sindoor has provided justice to the women who lost their spouses and given satisfaction to the entire country after the 'soul-stirring' killings of the innocent people by terrorists in Pahalgam, that our government and Army will not spare anyone if they harass India," She said.
The chief minister thanked the prime minister and the Indian Army, and said the entire nation stands with them.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said the attackers in Pahalgam terror attack asked victims to tell Prime Minister Narendra Modi and now he has responded.
"Bharat Mata Ki Jai. India has now taught a lesson to Atankistan (referring to Pakistan). Every bullet will be accounted for, every sacrifice will be avenged. Jai Hind," Tiwari said in his X post.
Delhi Assembly Speaker and former Delhi BJP president Vijender Gupta said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has trust of 140 crore Indians because he did what he said.
"Enemy camp pretended to be prepared, but was once again overtaken by the sheer power of the IAF! Kudos to the forces for hitting the terror camps in Pakistan and PoK and avenging the brutal killing of 26 innocent civilians by inflicting unforgettable damage to terror masterminds," Gupta said in a post on X.
The Indian armed forces, in the early hours of Wednesday, launched precision missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and PoK, including the strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke.
The strikes were in retaliation to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives.
The Defence Ministry, in a statement issued at 1:44 am, confirmed the launch of 'Operation Sindoor', aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure used to plan and direct attacks on the Indian soil.

Russia, which has warm relations with both India and Pakistan, said it condemned all forms of terrorism in a statement published on the foreign ministry's website.

It was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who picked the evocative term "Operation Sindoor" to codename the Indian armed forces' strikes on nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, official sources said on Wednesday.

The targets set under Operation Sindoor were destroyed with precision as per plan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday, hours after the Indian military carried out strikes against nine terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
"India has exercised its 'right to respond' to the attack on its soil. Our action has been taken very thoughtfully and in a measured manner," Singh said while lauding the retaliation by armed forces against the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 civilians were killed.
"We only killed those who killed our innocents," Singh said at the inauguration of Border Roads Organisation's 50 infrastructure projects across six states and two Union territories. (PTI)
Former British PM Rishi Sunak has come out in support of India's airstrikes on Pakistan-based terror groups. "No nation should have to accept terrorist attacks being launched against it from land controlled by another country. India is justified in striking terrorist infrastructure. There can be no impunity for terrorists," Sunak wrote on X.
