New Delhi: With India acting tough against Pakistan in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday received calls from President Emmanuel Macron of France, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy, Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba of Japan, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel.
Netanyahu conveyed to Modi his strong condemnation of the terror attack in India. He expressed solidarity with the people of India and the families of the victims. Modi shared the barbaric nature of the cross-border terrorist attack and reiterated India’s firm resolve to bring the perpetrators and their supporters to justice, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.
Shiba expressed his deepest condolences at the loss of lives in the terror attack. The prime minister of Japan said that terrorism could not be justified in any way. He and Modi emphasised that terrorism was a grave threat to humanity and those who believed in democracy should stand united in the fight against terrorism. Modi shared with Shiba his assessment of the cross-border terror attack and India’s resolve to deal with it firmly and decisively.
Macron conveyed to Modi his personal condolences on the brutal killing of innocent people in the heinous terror attack. He strongly condemned the attack and expressed full support and solidarity with the people of India, adding that this kind of barbarism was totally unacceptable.
Modi thanked him for his message of support and conveyed India’s strong resolve to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The prime minister also received calls from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and King Abdullah bin Al Hussain of Jordan.
Modi had earlier received calls from United States President Donald Trump and other world leaders.
