Parliament Highlights: Both Houses adjourned for the day after 15 MPs suspended for rest of sessionYesterday's security lapse continued to rock the Parliament today as both Houses went through a tough time. The proceedings were repeatedly adjourned amid Opposition's demand of statements from PM and the Home Ministers on the incident. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will move the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2023 in the Rajya Sabha today for consideration and passage to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019. The Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha on December 12.
Amit Shah will also move the Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in the Rajya Sabha for consideration and passage further to amend the Government of Union Territories Act, 1963. Earlier, the Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will move the Appropriation (No.4) Bill in the Rajya Sabha for consideration and return to provide for the authorisation of appropriation of money out of the consolidated fund of India to meet the amounts spent on certain services during the financial year ended on the March 31,2021, in excess of the amounts granted for those services and for that year. The Bill was as passed by the Lok Sabha on December 12.

The Congress has demanded a discussion on the Parliament security breach in both Houses. While Congress MP Manickam Tagore gave Adjournment Motion notice in Lok Sabha demanding a discussion on the Parliament security breach incident and a reply from the Union Home Minister on the issue, Congress's MP Rajeev Shukla gave Suspension of Business Notice in Rajya Sabha under rule 267 on the matter.

On the Parliamentary security breach incident, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi says, "We all agree that the unfortunate incident which occurred yesterday was a serious incident concerning the safety and the security of honourable members of parliament. The Lok Sabha Speaker held a meeting with all the floor leaders and listened to their solutions for the further strengthening of the security in the parliament. Some of the suggestions given have already been implemented. No politics should be done on this issue..."
