Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya thanked the MPs for supporting the Bill. He is now addressing the House and explaining the four amendments the Bill is bringing.

"Other countries put a lot of money in R&D, and I ask you to do the same," he said.

As many as 144 central infrastructure projects have reported delays (single and multiple) in its completion in the current financial year and the total cost overrun of these is Rs 14,960.02 crore, Parliament was informed on Monday.
"The list of central infrastructure projects that have reported delays in completion in the current financial year is at Annexure-I. The cost overrun of these 144 projects is Rs 14960.02 crore," Statistics Minister Rao Inderjit Singh said in a written reply to a query in the Rajya Sabha.

There is no shortage of coal in the country, Union minister Pralhad Joshi informed Parliament on Monday. Replying to a query in the Rajya Sabha, Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi said that coal stocks at generating plants had depleted due to some interruption in supply of dry fuel due to heavy rains, increased power demand, and less electricity generation by imported coal-based power plants. Coal stock at power plants depleted to 7.2 million tonnes (MT) (sufficient for four days) as of October 8, 2021.
"It has been decided that all agencies should ensure that such unfortunate incidents do not take place again in the future while taking up such drives. Govt is monitoring the incident minutely & necessary remedial measured are being taken to ensure peace in the area", said Amit Shah.
"Government of India expresses regrets over the incident and expresses condolences to those killed... a SIT has been formed and has been directed to complete investigation within a month. The situation in Nagaland is tense but under control. All agencies have to ensure such incidents do not happen in future," Amit Shah said.

The productivity of Lok Sabha increased to 204 per cent on Thursday as the House sat for extra hours till midnight to discuss the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Lok Sabha officials, the productivity of the Lower House had touched 117 per cent on Wednesday when the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulations) Bill was passed after a four-hour debate.

The Rajya Sabha lost 52.30 per cent of the scheduled sitting time during the first week of the ongoing Winter Session on account of disruptions and forced adjournments, the RS secretariat said.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday advised Parliamentary committees to directly interact with people and take inputs from them so that it can make "more effective and meaningful" recommendations to the government for the development of the country.
