A passenger on-board a IndiGo flight from Patna to Kolkata was deboarded after he fell unconscious soon after occupying his seat on the aircraft.

The incident took place at Patna's Jaya Prakash Narayan International Airport where the passenger, Pranab Saha, an engineer working with the Public Works Department (PWD) in Tripura, boarded the IndiGo aircraft on Wednesday evening.

Saha was in Patna to attend a wedding and was returning to his workplace in Agartala via Kolkata. As soon as Saha boarded the flight and occupied his seat, he felt restless and eventually fell unconscious. The airlines  brought  a private doctor from a prominent hospital, who provided medical assistance to resuscitate him.

"Saha's blood pressure had plummeted and pulse was high," said an aviation source at the Patna airport. "The passenger fell unconscious just when the crew was preparing for take-off. The IndiGo crew informed the Air Traffic Control (ATC), which in turn rushed in the doctor," the source added.

The 52-year-old  traveller was later admitted to hospital, where after thorough check-up and proper medication, he was discharged and allowed to travel on Thursday along with his wife Arpana.
