Ploy to distract attention from Adani issue: Congress on cash wad recovered from Abhishek Singhvi's Rajya Sabha seat

The Congress on Friday claimed that the currency notes that were recovered from the bench of Abhishek Manu Singhvi was a ploy to distract attention from the Adani issue.

If somebody is carrying Rs 50,000 in the pocket is not a crime, ANI quoted Congress sources as saying.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders reportedly met with Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and requested him to conduct an investigation into the matter by any agency or even form a JPC on it.

Congress has been protesting against the Adani issue which led to several adjournments in the Parliament today, before Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day.

Ruckus also broke out in the Rajya Sabha over the cash issue, with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge slamming Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar for taking the name of Singhvi even before the probe into the matter was completed.
