The three officers, P P Pandey, G L Singhal and Tarun Barot were part of the Ahmedabad crime branch when Ishrat along with three others was gunned down on the outskirts of Ahmedabad in 2004.
Her family had alleged that she was killed in a fake encounter. The Gujarat High Court has set up a special investigation team to inquire whether it was a fake encounter or not.
The court had come down heavily on the government during the last hearing on why it had not shifted the three officers who were holding key positions and could scuttle investigations.
