Postmortem report of Shefali Jariwala likely to be released on July 1: ReportAs of Monday, statements of 14 people have been recorded in this matter and also seven CCTV footage samples have been collected.

Shefali Jariwala, popularly known as the Kaanta Laga girl, passed away in Mumbai on Friday, at the age of 42.

The body has been sent to Dr R N Cooper Municipal General Hospital at Vile Parle for post-mortem. On Saturday morning, a team of Mumbai Police officials visited the hospital and her residence.

Further investigation is under way as two teams from Amboli Police Station are handling the case.

As per a report by NDTV, the post mortem was "video recorded" and the report is being made by a team of five doctors.

The Ambali Police told the publication that the report is likely to be released on July 1.

The report mentioned that police initially looked into possible "poisoning" angles. Police is also tracking information related to Shefali's doctors in the past 8 years, the medicines she was prescribed and whether she took any medicines without prescription, it added.

As of Monday, statements of 14 people have been recorded in this matter and also seven CCTV footage samples have been collected.

The statements were taken from Shefali's family members, pharmacist, domestic staff.

According to initial reports, the actress suffered a suspected cardiac arrest and was rushed to the Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital at Andheri, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Shefali was born on December 15, 1982, in Gujarat's Ahmedabad in a Gujarati family.

She had started her career in the entertainment industry, but she rose to fame after her 2002 song video Kaanta Laga.

She also appeared in Bollywood film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. She had worked in the South Indian film industry as well.
