President Pranab Mukherjee reached Kolkata on a two-day visit to the state. Mukherjee, who was received at the city airport by state minister for planning Rachpal Singh and Chief Secretary Sanjay Mitra, left the city for Murshidabad district by helicopter to attend a series of programmes.
These will include the inauguration of the new building of Domkal Girls’ College and address students at Krishnanath College at Berhampore.
He will also felicitate a group of industry leaders at the formal inauguration of the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology at Shibpur in Howrah on Sunday.
