Self-styled Christian preacher Bajinder Singh, who was booked in a sexual harassment case earlier this month, has landed in another controversy after a video purportedly showing him assaulting a woman went viral on social media.
Singh, a pastor in Punjab, is widely known for his viral "Yeshu Yeshu" videos.
In the new viral video, Singh can be seen sitting in an official setup with other people, allegedly his employees. Singh can be seen having an altercation with a man present in his office. He throws a bag at him and then hits him.
In the same video, Singh then throws an object at a woman sitting with a toddler.
Tensions further escalated as the pastor slapped the woman and the two engaged in a tiff while other people tried to distance them.
Sexual harassment case against Bajinder Singh
Earlier this month, Bajinder Singh was booked in a sexual harassment case in Jalandhar district.
According to the complaint, a woman alleged that she and her parents had been visiting the church since October 2017. Pastor Bajinder Singh reportedly took her mobile number and began sending messages. She claimed that she was afraid of him and could not confide in her parents.
From 2022 onwards, Singh allegedly made her sit alone in a cabin at the church on Sundays, where he reportedly hugged and touched her inappropriately, according to the complainant's statement to the police.
A case has been registered against Singh under sections 354 A (sexual harassment), 354 D (stalking), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
Singh is not new to controversies. He was booked in another sexual-harassment case following allegations levelled by a Zirakpur-based woman in 2018.
In 2022, Singh was accused of taking money from a Delhi family for treating their daughter for her illness, but she could not be saved.
In 2023, the income-tax department raided his premises.
