The Rajasthan government has formed a high-level committee to listen to the complaints of disgruntled employees. The committee will be presided over by state Industry Minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat.
The move comes after employees threatened to protest in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be visiting Ajmer on October 6 to for the concluding ceremony of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's ongoing Gaurav Yatra.
Thousands of employees from 50 government departments have been protesting for the last three weeks, due to which, key public services such as transport and healthcare have come to a halt in Rajasthan. Employees are pressing for demands including, implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission from January 2016, an increase in allowances, and filling up of vacancies in different departments.
