New Delhi: On the day when the Congress declined an invitation to the consecration of the Ram Temple, citing that the event had been turned into a political affair by the BJP and RSS, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat expressed that "such an opportunity doesn't come to everyone". He stated that receiving an invite is a "matter of great fortune" for him.

Bhagwat said that he will attend the inauguration. “This is an opportunity which is not available to many even though they might have asked for it. So, I will be attending the function,” Bhagwat said in a video address.

“It is a matter of great good fortune that I get the opportunity to be present at such a grand event. Because the temple of Shri Ram is not just a temple of worship, the occasion of its consecration signifies the establishment of the sanctity and dignity in this country,” Bhagwat said.

He added that not everyone will be able to attend this event, and only those who have received invitations will participate. "There is enthusiasm for the temple in every village and every house. The reason for this is that, firstly, after so many years, we rebuilt the symbol of India's 'self.' This was accomplished based on our collective efforts," Bhagwat remarked.

He added that India has been endeavoring to find its own direction for many decades. "We have now found it, and it has been established. A belief has taken root in everyone's mind, contributing to an auspicious atmosphere across the entire country. In such a situation, we will be present there directly, witness the event, and extend our support," Bhagwat said.

He said that the freedom we have today is deeply rooted in the sense of self. “This sense of self makes us pious and makes us who we are in front of the world,” he said.

"A manifestation of this sense of self served as a declaration to the entire world that India has stood on its own and will progress with its dignified life, aiming to establish prosperity and peace globally," Bhagwat added.
