The RSS has decided to approach the Supreme Court to seek a court-monitored probe into the killings of its workers in Kerala.

The RSS's legal affiliate, Legal Rights Observatory, is preparing the petition which is said to be in the final stages.

The petition would request a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the murders.

Legal Rights Observatory convener Vinay Joshi will file the petition to unearth a "larger conspiracy of a grand alliance between the CPM and Islamic radicals working hand in glove in Kerala and posing a serious threat to the lives of RSS workers and other nationalist forces."

"So far more than 50 workers have been murdered by Kerala's CPM cadres in tandem with Islamic radicals and no substantial progress has been witnessed in any of these cases in terms of prosecutions and convictions. Majority of the murder cases have been covered up to save guilty CPM workers," the Legal Rights Observatory stated.

The RSS and the BJP have been accusing the CPM of unleashing terror against their leaders and workers.

On Sunday, the BJP alleged that Vadakketharakath Anandan, from Nenmeni near Guruvayur, was hacked to death by a gang of CPM workers. Anandan was out on bail in a CPM worker's murder case.

Earlier, at the insistence of the RSS, the BJP had taken out a protest march in Kerala.
