The YouTube Channel of Sansad TV, which broadcasts Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha live proceedings as well as other programmes, was "compromised" by "scamsters" on Tuesday early morning but restored later in the day.
In a statement, Sansad TV said the channel was compromised due to "unauthorised activities by some scamsters" at 1 am, including live streaming.
Also, it said, the channel's name was changed to 'Ethereum', a cryptocurrency. However, it said, the social media team of Sansad TV immediately noticed the attack and retained the channel by around 3:45 AM.
Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-ln), the nodal agency for responding to cyber security incidents in India, also reported the incident and had alerted Sansad TV, the statement added.
However, it said, YouTube has started "fixing the security threats permanently" and the channel on the video platform "shall be restored ASAP (as soon as possible)."
When accessing or trying to watch Sansad TV on Youtube, a message, "this account has been terminated for violating YouTube's community guidelines," showed up on users' screens.
Later in the evening, Sansad TV issued a fresh statement saying its YouTube channel has been restored and live streaming has restarted.
