The Supreme Court-appointed panel on three farm laws has submitted its report to the apex court in a sealed envelope after consultations with farmers’ organisations, legal experts, industry representatives among others.
The report was submitted to the apex court on March 19 after 12 rounds of meetings with various stakeholders and 11 internal meetings of the Committee to deliberate the suggestions made.
The Supreme Court had constituted a four-member committee comprising farm experts Anil Ghanvat, Pramod Joshi, Ashok Gulati and Bhupinder Singh Mann on January 11 to listen to the grievances of the farmers on the three farm laws, the views of the government and make recommendations.
Mann, the President of the Bhartiya Kisan Union had opted out of the Committee soon after it was constituted.
The committee had also sought comments, views, and suggestions of the public through a public notice published in major newspapers.
The Supreme Court stayed the implementation of the three farm laws after constituting the Committee.
Farmers, mostly from Punjab and Haryana, have been protesting at the borders of the national capital since November 26 demanding repeal of the three farm laws.
