New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday asked the Jharkhand High Court to reconsider the plea of a single parent woman judicial officer -- Additional District judge -- aggrieved by the denial of her child care leave request.

A bench of Justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and Augustine George Masih said the high court would reconsider the plea of the ADJ without being influenced by the previous rejection of her plea.

The bench posted the matter for further hearing next week.

The Supreme Court had on May 29 issued notice to Jharkhand HC and sought its response to the by the ADJ challenging the denial to grant her child care leave.

The woman -judge said she is a single parent.

"She sought child care leave because she was transferred to some other place," her lawyer said, adding that leave sought by her was rejected.

Her counsel said the woman had sought child care leave from June 10 to December.
