The landslips in the Nilgiris district alone has claimed 43 lives so far while total rain-related deaths across the state has crossed the 90-mark, according to official sources here.
All schools in the four severely devastated Taluks in the Nilgiris, namely Udaghamandalam (popularly known as Ooty), Coonoor, Kotagiri and Kundah, will work for shorter hours daily from 10:30 am to 4 pm, until normalcy was fully restored in the district, sources said on Tuesday.
