Scrapping policy to make auto industry more competitive in international market: Nitin Gadkari

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated ‘Scrapping Facilitation Centre’ of Maruti Suzuki Toyotsu India on November 23.

While addressing the inaugural function Union Minister said that Scrapping policy is an important solution to reduce pollution.

“We are encouraging ethanol, green hydrogen fuel...Scrapping policy is an important solution to reduce pollution. It will make auto industry more competitive in the international market; will get us (raw) materials at lower costs, therefore reducing production cost,” said Union Minister Gadkari.

“Our turnover of auto sector is Rs 7.5 lakh crores of which Rs 3 lakh crores is export. My aim is to make Indian auto industry to the volume of Rs 15 lakh crores within 5 years,” he added.
