Shiva Sena lauds voters for uprooting BJP

As the BJP loses power in the Hindi heartland, the party's oldest ally Shiv Sena, saluted voters for uprooting the BJP from power.

Party chief Uddhav Thackeray, however, did not name the saffron party, its chief Amit Shah or its PM Narendra Modi in his strongly worded reaction.

"Without bothering about alternatives, the voters in these states have given their verdict," Thackeray said.

According to him, people have ushered in a change without fear, irrespective of EVMs, money power, muscle power and the oft-repeated phrase: "There is no alternative".
