In a shocking viral video, a 24-year-old woman claimed that she has married her 50-year-old biological father, sparking a heated debate on morals and societal ethics regarding a incestuous father-daughter relationship.
The video which has been posted on X (formerly Twitter) by a Samajwadi leader called Jay Singh Yadav has garnered more than 5 lakh views.
The video shows a woman dressed in a red saree, wearing a mangalsutra and sindoor telling bystanders, "This is my father and now we have shown the world that we are happily married." Standing beside her, her father also confirmed the relationship saying, "Yes, she is my daughter. So what is the problem in this?"
One of the person can be heard asking the woman if she does not feel any shame? To this, the man replies, "In which era are you living? Why be ashamed?"
Some people also asked the duo the purpose of making a video about the purported marriage. The woman claimed that she did it to silence the people who used to talk behind their backs and gossip about her and her father's relationship.
"I started liking him long back and then decided to get married. Now we are married," the woman can be heard saying in the video.
According to a News18 report, the video is believed to date back to before 2020 (it was originally posted to TikTok which is banned in India now). However, after Yadav posted it on X, it has once again started gaining attention.
DH could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.
Some users have claimed that the video is fake and has been made just to garner attention. "These people make reels to go viral. Nothing like this happens in reality," wrote a user.
"Such people should not be allowed to live in the society. These people are maligning the relationship between a father and daughter," wrote another.
