Rakhi Sawant became the focal point of yet another Bollywood controversy when a friend of hers slapped director Sachindra Sharma and levelled allegations of using the casting couch against him.
The matter is now being investigated by the Santacruz police station, where an FIR has been filed based on the cross-complaints from both sides. While the girl's complaint was backed by Sawant, the director's complaint was filed by his wife.
The incident took place on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, during the music launch of “Mumbai Can Dance Saala”, a film directed by Sharma. During the launch, Sharma and Sawant were on the dais. Sawant’s friend walked on to the stage and slapped Sharma, who was prevented by others from reacting. The episode was caught on several TV cameras.
“Sachindra Sharma...unhone mere ko compromise ke liye poocha...casting couch ke liye...aur main Rakhi ji ki friend hoon (Sachindra Sharma asked me to ‘compromise’... on the casting couch. And I am a friend of Rakhi Sawant),” said the furious complainant.
“If she is saying this, she has to be correct,” said Sawant of her friend. “This is just a publicity stunt,” said Sharma, adding that “some girls” gatecrash parties and create controversy.
