New Delhi: Asking the Prime Minister to "stop giving hollow speeches", Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday attacked Narendra Modi claiming that he has "compromised the honour" of the country and "sacrificed" India's interests by believing in Pakistan's statements on terrorism and by "bowing" to US President Donald Trump.

"Modi-ji, stop giving hollow speeches. Just tell me: 1. Why did you believe Pakistan's statement on terrorism? 2. Why did you sacrifice India's interests by bowing to Trump? 3. Why does your blood boil only in front of cameras?" he posted on X.

Rahul tagged a portion of Modi's address to the nation in which he said that India took note of Pakistan's assurance that there will be no support to terrorism or military action. He is also critical of US President Donald Trump's repeated assertion on mediating the ceasefire.

Addressing a press conference here, Congress MP Praniti Shinde accused the Modi government of reducing serious issues such as national security, diplomacy and internal stability to a medium of "hollow propaganda and photo opportunity".

"After Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Modi's focus has been only on publicity and self-praise but the people of the country want answers," she said.

Congress General Secretary (Communications) Jairam Ramesh posted on X, "Why are the brutal killers of Pahalgam still free -- according to some reports, they had been responsible for three earlier terror attacks in Poonch, Gagangir and Gulmarg over the past 18 months. Why have you not chaired any all-party meeting and taken the opposition parties into confidence?"
