Subhash Chandra very much at home, says son Punit

Punit Goenka, son of Essel Group chairman Subhash Chandra clarified on Sunday that his father has not left the country and is 'very much in Mumbai at home'. He criticised the 'mischief makers' for spreading false rumours about his father.

He made the clarifications on Twitter he also said that his father is 'a fighter and a patriot, and certainly not one to run away from challenges'. He advised the 'mischief makers' to focus on the positive things in life.

Subhash Chandra also posted a photo on Sunday to quell the rumours.

Subhash Chandra, the media baron who is often hailed as the 'father of the Indian television', and his son Punit were given the deadline of September 30 to repay their debt of about ₹11,000 crores. The Essel group has already paid more than half of that and said last week that said it had received another extension for the remaining amount.
