“Boys having high levels of endosulfan in their bodies, showed lower levels of testosterone, and delays in reaching sexual maturity,” says the petition filed by Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the youth wing of CPI (M).

The government machinery had completely failed to protect human life from the hazardous effect of endosulfan, even though the Insecticides Act, 1968 specifically provided for a regulatory system to be put in place, the petitioner organisation said. The petition is comting up for hearing before Chief Justice Kapadia on May 2.
