You might know people travelling abroad to study, work, or simply enjoy a holiday, but a Swedish man in India has caught the attention of netizens for something unusual.
In a series of Instagram reels, he was seen cleaning the streets of India's capital city. Yes, you read that right—the foreigner took it upon himself to clean the streets he walked through in Delhi.
The man’s name wasn’t highlighted in the videos, but his commitment to cleanliness quickly went viral.
He revealed that he was on a 7-day challenge to clean the streets of Delhi, aiming to conclude on Independence Day i.e. August 15.
"I am challenging myself for the next 7 days, to clean one street each day in India," he said on Day 1.
He named his challenge 'Ek Din Ek Gully (One Day, One Street)'.

He shares his cleanliness drive videos on an Instagram page with the username '4cleanindia'. While initial clips showed him alone collecting bags of trash from the roadside, later footage showed a few other youths joining him in the cleanliness drive.

As the videos went viral, netizens reacted to the Swedish man cleaning Indian streets. Indian Instagram users "felt ashamed", and some even expressed the desire to volunteer and join him.
"I'm feeling ashamed that a foreigner has to come and show us how to be a good civilian," read a comment.
"Atleast now our Indian should wake up," another user wrote.
"you have already inspired me to follow suit. How can volunteers sign up and join you," netizens asked him further.
