Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Saturday led a 4-km-long rally here to show solidarity with the Armed Forces engaged in Operation Sindoor against the Pakistani terror infrastructure in Pakistan. The rally which started at the office of the Director General of Police (DGP) at 5 pm ended at the War Memorial – both sides of the Kamaraj promenade on the Marina Beach.
Meanwhile, in a sudden announcement, India, Pakistan said that the two countries have reached a ceasefire, halting any military action.
“Tamil Nadu marched in solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces. The ceasefire is a welcome step — may peace endure. Our heartfelt salute to the courage of those who guard our borders,” Stalin wrote on his social media pages.
Stalin’s rally came two days after his Telangana counterpart A Revanth Reddy held a solidarity rally in support of the Indian Army.
Meanwhile, Governor R N Ravi, who don’t see eye-to-eye with Stalin on a host of issues, congratulated the Chief Minister for the grand public rally expressing unequivocal solidarity of eight crore people of Tamil Nadu with the Indian Armed Forces who are valiantly and successfully defending the nation against the Pakistani military aggression.
“Our nation stands united and resolute alongside our armed forces, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to wipe out all the nodes of terror and safeguard our national sovereignty,” Ravi added.
