Music Academy invites applications for diploma course

Chennai: The Advanced School of Carnatic Music, established in 2010 by the Music Academy Madras, has invited applications for the three-year advanced Diploma course in Carnatic Music.
Applicants, who have passed plus two, and are in the age group of 18 to 30 can enrol, and should be able to sing varnams, kritis and have a reasonable level of manodharma.
The application form is available on Music Academy’s website and candidates must email it with their bio-data and details of their musical training.
Last date for receipt of application is June 25, 2025 and the three-year course has two semesters every year (mid-July to November end, and mid-January to April end).
The school has been training students to achieve a high level of excellence in music. Learning from stalwarts also gives them the confidence to perform on stage.
At the end of the three-year training, students are tested not just on the compositions learnt and niraval, etc. but they also have to present a concert in front of an invited audience, the Music Academy said.
