Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin was on Monday hospitalized after mild dizziness during his routine morning walk and will stay at the hospital for three more days during which a few more tests will be conducted on him.

After his morning walk, Stalin went to Anna Arivalayam, DMK headquarters, to welcome AIADMK leader Anwhar Raajhaa into the party. From there, he went straight to Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road off the arterial Anna Salai and got himself admitted.

“He has been advised to rest for three more days and prescribed a few other tests for evaluation. He is expected to continue discharging his duties in official capacity from the hospital during his stay,” Dr Anil B G, Director, Medical Services, Apollo Hospitals, said in a medical bulletin.

Water Resources Minister Durai Murugan, also DMK general secretary, and Health Minister Ma Subramanian, who visited Stalin at the hospital, said the Chief Minister was doing fine and would return home soon.

“He is healthy. Routine tests are being conducted and there is nothing to worry,” Subramanian said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, superstar Rajinikanth and actor Kamal Haasan spoke to Stalin over the phone to enquire about his health, while AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami wished him a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, the government cancelled all events that the Chief Minister was to attend in Tiruppur in the next couple of days citing his ill-health. Though Stalin didn’t participate, the second part of a book written by his wife Durga about their life was released on Monday evening with the author and her family in attendance.
