Hyderabad: In a chilling case reminiscent of the recent Meghalaya murder, a newly married woman in Gadwal, Telangana, orchestrated her husband's murder with assistance from her boyfriend, a married man who works as a manager at a non-banking financial company (NBFC).
The contract murder occurred barely a month after the wedding. Aishwarya had installed GPS tracking on her husband Tejeswar Rao's motorcycle to monitor his movements and identify the ideal location for the assassination. Rao worked as a private land surveyor.
According to sources in Gadwal police, the meticulously planned killing was executed on June 17 through a coordinated assault by members of a contract killing gang. During initial questioning, Aishwarya maintained complete innocence while secretly providing updates to her accomplice, Tirumala Rao.
The pair had planned to flee to Ladakh after the murder, believing they could then pursue their relationship without obstacles. Police arrested mastermind Tirumala Rao on Wednesday, bringing the total number of suspects in custody to eight.
Police sources revealed that Aishwarya made over 20 video calls to Rao even after her marriage on May 18. When Tejeswar went missing on June 17, his brother filed a complaint and police registered a missing person case.
While searching for Tejeswar, police received information from their Kurnool counterparts in Andhra Pradesh about a body found in agricultural land at Panyam on June 20. A Gadwal police team rushed to the scene and identified the victim as Tejeswar.
Villagers had noticed the body in bushes after a foul smell began emanating from the area and alerted police. The autopsy revealed that assailants had killed Tejeswar by slitting his throat.
After returning the body to family members following the post-mortem examination, police launched a comprehensive investigation. They are now conducting detailed interrogation and crime scene reconstruction.
