CBI Director Praveen Sood hospitalised in Hyderabad

Sood, who had been to the temple town of Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh, complained of uneasiness while returning to Hyderabad on Saturday afternoon and was shifted to the hospital, they said.

Hyderabad: CBI Director Praveen Sood, who was in Hyderabad on a personal visit, was admitted to a private hospital on Saturday after suddenly falling ill.

Sood developed health complications while returning from Srisailam and was immediately taken to the hospital upon his arrival in Hyderabad. His condition is now reported to be stable.

Praveen Sood had arrived in Telangana two days earlier and traveled to Srisailam on Friday to visit the Bhramarambika and Mallikarjuna Swamy temples. After having darshan of the presiding deities at the temple, Sood departed for Hyderabad on Saturday morning. Upon reaching the city, he was rushed to a private hospital in Jubilee Hills.

He had also met with officials of the central agency during his visit. His trip to Telangana and Hyderabad has gained significance following the Telangana government's recent orders seeking a CBI probe into the Kaleshwaram project.
