Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday opened the Zoo Park-Aramghar Flyover to the public in Hyderabad. Revanth Reddy named the six-lane, four-kilometer-long flyover, the second longest in Hyderabad, after former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who passed away recently.
Revanth stated that former Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajashekhara Reddy, during the previous Congress regime, built the longest flyover in Telangana, the 11 km long P V Narasimha Rao Express Highway.
“The present Congress government constructed the second longest flyover in the city. The completion of this flyover in record time demonstrates the high priority the Congress government is placing on urban development and reimagining the capital as part of its mission, HyderabadRising,” said Revanth Reddy.
Soon after coming to power, the Congress government made all-out efforts to solve every problem in the metropolis.
During the Nizam rule, Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar were built to address the drinking water problem in Hyderabad, said, the chief minister. As part of the Vision 2050 leading initiatives, providing drinking water for the city for the next few decades in a sustainable way, he added.
Revanth Reddy also said the Metro rail expansion and Musi rejuvenation project are meant not only for the development of Hyderabad City but also to ensure long-term environmental sustainability and an answer to climate crises.
“We are ready to join hands and work in tandem with everyone for the development of Hyderabad. We will move forward with the MIM for city development. We engage in politics solely during elections and collaborate with all stakeholders to promote the development of Hyderabad. Development must become a people’s movement,” Revanth said.
Once the Regional Ring Road construction is complete, Telangana will continue to develop. This is not an old city but the original city and original Hyderabad. The government will take up the construction of a cable bridge over Mir Alam Tank and develop it as the most attractive tourist spot, he said.
“We are prepared to provide funds for development, and the responsibility for completing the work lies with the public representatives. The foundation stone for the construction of Osmania Hospital at Goshamahal will be laid soon,” he said.
