During the visit, the delegation engaged with business and tech leaders, entrepreneurs, associations, state officials and the investment community to highlight Estonia’s unique position as a digitally advanced, science and business-oriented EU nation. Ambassador Luup highlighted Estonia’s global position as a digital and scientific pioneer and expressed enthusiasm about building closer ties with India, especially with regional innovation hubs in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The delegation focused on leading a dialogue aimed at deepening India–Estonia bilateral cooperation, with an emphasis on technology-driven growth in areas such as health, digital governance, cybersecurity, science, Robotics, AI, and innovation exchange. It also highlighted the ease of doing business with Estonia and explored opportunities for knowledge exchange, and strategic access for Indian businesses to European markets—especially by strengthening ties with Telangana and Hyderabad’s innovation ecosystem.

“Estonia and India both value innovation, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship. We see a strong alignment with India’s dynamic and evolving ecosystem, and we are keen to explore opportunities where our two nations can collaborate, learn from each other, and grow together. The economic synergy between Estonia and India can open up valuable business opportunities, support the development of local industries, and drive joint initiatives in technology and science. Telangana, with its strong focus on IT, progressive policies, and innovation-driven platforms, is a natural partner for Estonia’s aspirations in India. Hyderabad’s phenomenal growth reflects India’s digital capabilities, technological expertise, and international outlook—which is evident in the presence of several tech powerhouses in Hi-Tech City. Estonia is keen to raise awareness about its digital strengths and open new avenues for collaboration with visionary partners in India,” said Ambassador Marje Luup during a meeting with business leaders in Hyderabad on Friday.

The Ambassador was accompanied by a high-powered delegation including Sven Aulik, Madli Rahuvarm, and Katre Eljas experts in health, ICT, e-governance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and robotics. Representing top-tier scientific and technology institutions such as TalTech, Tehnopol, the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications, and AIRE (AI & Robotics Associations).

Estonia is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most forward-thinking economies. It was the first country in the world to offer e-Residency, a digital identity that allows entrepreneurs from anywhere in the world to start and manage a company online, within the EU legal framework.
