Telangana's IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao on Friday met with Kaynes Managing Director, Ramesh Kannan, and Chairperson, Savitha Ramesh, and announced the setting up of the Kaynes facility in Telangana.
A homegrown player in the Electronics Contract Manufacturing Services, Kaynes Technology India Limited, will be investing Rs 2,800 crore in Telangana to set up a Semiconductor OSAT and Compound Semiconductor facility.

The proposed facility will come up in Kongara Kalan, adjacent to the upcoming electronics manufacturing facility of Foxconn.
Kaynes Technology is venturing into OSAT/ ATMP services under its subsidiary Kaynes Semicon. Kaynes Semicon will support customers worldwide in QFN, SOT, TO, BGA, and FC BGA kind of packages in the first 3 years for power devices. Kaynes Semicon is also setting up a state-of-the-art R&D centre for package research in collaboration with IIT Bombay.

Semiconductors are the foundation for modern computing devices and are playing an increasingly pivotal role in driving the global economy as the world moves towards greater adoption of digital technologies.
