After conducting raids at the properties belonging to Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule Producers Mythri Movie Makers on Tuesday, the Income Tax Department carried out a raid at the director and co-producer Sukumar’s residence on Wednesday morning. Sukumar is not just the writer and director but is also the co-producer of of Pushpa 2: The Rule. He co-produced the movie under the banner Sukumar Writings.

If reports are to be believed, Sukumar, who was at the airport, was brought back home by the IT officials for the investigation. Reportedly, the IT raid began early in the morning and lasted till noon. IT officials are investigating suspected hidden assets and unreported funds by the makers and more updates are awaited as the investigation progresses.

Sukumar became one of the biggest names with the success of Pushpa 2, as Allu Arjun's movie broke all the records of Indian cinema. The movie emerged as one of the highest grossers of 2024. The film ruled at the box office and surpassed the box office records of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2.

Meanwhile, IT raids are also ongoing at the residences and properties of Game Changer producer Dil Raju, Sankranthiki Vasthunam producer and Pushpa 2 producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili along with the film financiers involved with these banners. Reports further suggest that a digital marketing company is under the IT scanner.

These filmmakers and producers came under the IT radar for revealing huge collections of their movies released in December 2024 and January 2025 on account of the 'Sankranti' festival.
