Hyderabad: In a major relief to Tollywood actor Allu Arjun, a court in Hyderabad on Friday granted the Pushpa-2 star regular bail in connection with the December 4 Sandhya Theatre stampede incident in which a 35-year-old woman died.
Currently, the Telugu actor Arjun was on an interim bail for four weeks granted by the High Court a few days ago.
He was arrested by the Chikkadapally police on December 13 in connection with the stampede incident.
Allu Arjun, who is accused no 11 in the case, challenged his arrest and moved a quash petition in the state high court, which had granted him interim bail for four weeks on the same day.
Even though the interim bail period is going to end shortly, he moved another petition in the II Additional Metropolitan Sessions Court, Nampally, seeking regular bail.
A few days ago, Arjun attended the hearing virtually, and the judge posted the next hearing to Friday. The judge granted him regular bail on Friday.
Arjun's counsel, Ashok Reddy, said that the court has sought two sureties who will submit bonds of Rs 50,000 each. The stampede claimed the life of 35-year-old M Revathi, while her 9-year-old son, Sree Tej, sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

They were booked under sections 105 and 118 (1) of the BNS Act for negligence and failure to ensure public safety. Police have so far arrested Arjun's security staff and members of the movie theatre management.
A day after the incident, Arjun condoled the death and announced Rs 25 lakh aid to the family of Revathi. Arjun, along with the director of Pushpa-2, Sukumar, and the film's producers, Mythri Movie Makers, recently announced a financial assistance of Rs 2 crore to Revathi's family.
