Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday launched the Bhu Bharati portal, replacing the previous BRS government's Dharani system. The integrated online revenue records management system, established under the Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights in Land) Act, 2024, was inaugurated at Shilpa Kala Vedika during an event marking Dr BR Ambedkar's 134th birth anniversary.

The new portal will initially be implemented in three mandals as a pilot project in Thirumalagiri of Nalgonda, Sadasivapet of Medak, and Keesara of Rangareddy. Following this trial phase, it will be rolled out across the entire state by Telangana Formation Day on June 2.

Bhu Bharati offers comprehensive land-related services including registrations, mutations, appeals, revisions, ROR corrections, and conversion to non-agricultural land. Users can also access information on e-challans, encumbrance details, prohibited lands, land rights, market values, and registered document details.

Replacing Dharani was a key election promise made by Congress during the 2023 assembly elections. Although the previous Dharani system was introduced to streamline land transactions and enhance transparency, it faced widespread criticism due to operational issues, ultimately becoming a major controversy that damaged the BRS government's standing.

At the launch event, Revanth Reddy emphasized that Bhu Bharati would provide transparent and efficient services to resolve land issues. During a meeting at the Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resource Development Corporation (MCHRD), before the launch he directed District Collectors to conduct intensive awareness campaigns about the new portal at the mandal level.

"The Government designed Bhu Bharati after thorough study and research," Revanth Reddy stated, instructing Collectors to personally attend mandal meetings to address farmers' concerns and explain the portal's functioning in simple, understandable language.

The Chief Minister highlighted that unlike past practices where farmers were often directed to courts without adequate administrative attention to land revenue problems, the Bhu Bharati Act focuses on resolving land-related issues through the Revenue department. He emphasized the importance of informing farmers and citizens about the new appeal system available to them.

Revanth Reddy also directed Collectors to prioritize implementation of two flagship programs: Bhu Bharati and the Indiramma Housing scheme.
