Hyderabad: Telangana Congress elected representatives will contribute one month of their salary to the National Defence Fund in support of Indian armed forces amid escalating tensions with neighboring Pakistan.
Announcing the initiative, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said on Friday, "As an Indian first, I have decided to make a modest contribution of one month's salary to the National Defence Fund to support our country's brave Armed Forces in their efforts to eliminate terrorism and safeguard our borders and people. I have requested all my colleagues, party peers, and well-meaning citizens to join this drive. Let us stand together as one with our forces until our most decisive moment of triumph."
On Thursday, Hyderabad demonstrated solidarity with Indian armed forces as citizens participated in a rally led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The rally began at the Telangana Secretariat and proceeded toward Necklace Road. Participants chanted patriotic slogans including "Bharat Mata ki Jai," "Jai Jawan," and "Vande Mataram."
During the rally, Revanth Reddy issued a stern warning to Pakistan. "All 140 crore Indians stand with India's defense forces. We can wipe you (Pakistan) out from the face of the globe, and you won't see tomorrow's sunshine if India decides to take action," he declared.
