The Karregutta area spans multiple jurisdictions, falling under Venkatapuram, Wazeedu, and Peruru Police Stations in Mulugu district, as well as Elimidi and Usur Police Stations in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district.

As search operations intensify, Maoists who had sought refuge in Karregutta have begun dispersing in small groups to various locations.

In response, Mulugu police have enhanced their surveillance systems and implemented comprehensive security measures to prevent insurgents from entering their jurisdiction.

During this coordinated effort, police conducted targeted search operations on Friday and Saturday in the Murumuru forest area within Wazedu Police Station limits, resulting in the arrest of the Maoist operatives. Police also also seized firearms during the operation.

Mulugu district SP Dr P Shabarish said that the banned CPI (Maoists) have planted IEDs bombs in the Karregutta forest area in order to prevent security forces and others from entering the area and to establish a Maoist guerrilla base.

In this regard, the Maoists issued warnings through a statement also cautioning Adivasis and others not to enter the Karregutta forest area after which search operations have been intensified.

Police seized walkie talkies with antennas, radios, rechargeable batteries, pen drives, memory cards, card readers, kit bags, rifles, ammunition and party literature.
