The body was found 50 meters away from the conveyor belt and near the locomotive track. It was found by a mini excavator while digging.

Efforts are now on to identify the body. Rescue teams have recovered two bodies so far. Excavations continued to find the remaining six persons.

The rescue teams have successfully retrieved another body from the SLBC tunnel site where eight persons went missing. Following the recovery, the body was immediately transferred to the Nagarakurnool government hospital for further investigation.

Body remains were identified near the locomotive track. Rescue team noticed a distinct foul odor during the search operation. Interestingly, instead of focusing on the initially suspected areas marked as D1 and D2, the search team expanded their search to alternative locations. The decision to search beyond the originally anticipated areas proved fruitful, as the team subsequently identified additional body remains in a different section of the tunnel, said a member from the relief and rescue team.

The incident occurred on February 22 morning when eight workers, along with several others who entered the under construction SLBC tunnel for excavation work, became trapped after the roof partially collapsed. The Telangana government has been constructing this 40 km long SLBC tunnel to supply irrigation and drinking water to the erstwhile combined districts of Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar.
