Telangana IT and Industries minister, D Sridhar Babu on Wednesday urged Centre to help the state's mission to make it a leader in semiconductor manufacturing.

Sridhar Babu on Wednesday met Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, in New Delhi and appealed to him to help the state in its endeavour.

Minister Sridhar Babu explained the incentives and support provided by the Telangana government under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to industries interested in semiconductor manufacturing. He emphasized that Telangana has the potential to emerge as a national leader in this sector in the coming years.

During the meeting, the minister also highlighted the state's proactive measures in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity. He noted the growing interest from leading companies in establishing data centers in Telangana and underlined the importance of robust data security. He stressed the need for a National Disaster Recovery Zone to address these concerns and urged the Union government to prioritize this initiative.

Additionally, he extended an invitation to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to attend the BioAsia Summit, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on February 24, 2025.

By combining its strategic initiatives with central support, Telangana aims to position itself as a global hub for semiconductors and advanced technologies, he said.
