Three major militant outfits seem to have joined hands to send a large number of ultras into Jammu and Kashmir, sources told Deccan Herald, even as security forces foiled yet another infiltration bid across the international border in the Kathua district of the state on Tuesday.
The sources revealed that in the coming months, members of the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) might make joint attempts to infiltrate into the state before the commencement of the Assembly polls due later this year.
On Monday night, Border Security Force (BSF) troopers foiled the attempts of militants to infiltrate from the Hira Nagar sector of the International Border in Kathua. “There was suspected movement of infiltrators near Zeroline on the International Border in Bobiya forward border outpost in the Hira Nagar tehsil during midnight,” said a BSF spokesman in a statement, adding that troops challenged them and opened fire, following which they returned to the Pakistani side.
“During search conducted in the area this morning, blood stains were found,” he said.
Last week, LeT founder and Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, while addressing a huge gathering titled “Takbeer Convention” in Karachi, had reportedly called for “revenge on India” and vouched for the “liberation of Kashmir”.
Saeed, who delivered a fiery speech at the famous Aabpara Chowk very close to ISI headquarters, asked terrorists to get ready as the “time has come to perform the final jihad against India to free Kashmir from Indian occupation”.
