In a first of its kind in the country, Chief Minister J Jayalalitha launched an information technology (IT)-enabled service in nearly 6,000 state board higher secondary schools to help them register online with respective DEEs  from their schools. The logistics worked out under a joint programme by the Departments of School Education and Employment and Training was timely and relevant. It got kick-started on Wednesday, the day for issuance of marksheets to successful candidates at their schools.

On the first day itself, nearly 20,000 state board plus two students across the state, who came to receive their mark sheets, simultaneously got their names registered with the respective DEEs, official sources said.
