Uttar Pradesh government on Friday refused permission to former Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Praveen Togadia to hold a program in Ayodhya citing security issues.
Togadia, who has been spearheading a campaign for the construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya, was scheduled to organise a sit in on the bank of the Saryu river on Monday and Tuesday to press his demand for the Temple.
The saffron leader had given a call for a march to Ayodhya from the state capital on Monday.
The administration in Faizabad district has imposed prohibitory orders in the district and banned all kinds of programs, sources said.
