Tollywood actor Aarthi dies at 31 in US

US born Tollywood actress, once a superstar, Aarthi Agarwal (31) is no more. The actress succumbed to cardiac arrest at 6 am (US time) on Saturday at her home in Atlantic City in New Jersey. Her last movie was Ranam-2 which hit the screens on Friday.

She was born to Gujarati parents in New Jersey on March 5, 1984. When she was 14, actor Sunil Shetty spotted her and invited her to dance on stage in Philadelphia. Then came her first break with “Paagalpan”, at the age of 16. Later, she migrated to South with a superhit “Nuvvu Naaku Nachhav” pairing with Venkatesh in 2001. She acted with most top Telugu heroes, including Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Jr NTR and Mahesh.

According to reports, Aarthi has undergone liposuction at a hospital in Atlantic City and died due to complications. However, her office here said that she died of cardiac arrest. Some other reports also said that she died because of respiratory problems.

However, Aarthi’s short life was riddled with several crisis. She tried to commit suicide in 2005 following rumours of an unsuccessful love affair with co-star Tarun.
