Counting the advantages of merely touching a cow, Uttar Pradesh Animal Husbandry Minister Dharam Pal Singh on Wednesday in Lucknow welcomed Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI)’s announcement to celebrate February 14 as ‘Cow Hug Day’ and urged the citizens to celebrate the same. The UP minister further said that touching a cow helps in keeping many diseases away including maintaining one’s BP.

AWBI has issued an appeal to celebrate February 14 as the ‘Cow Hug Day’.

February 14 is celebrated as Valentine's Day across the world. “I welcome and appreciate this order. I congratulate Animal Welfare Board. Cow is 'mother of the nation' and our 'bhaagyavidhata'. Besides being 'pyaar ki bhoomi', it's also 'karmabhoomi',” the UP minister said.
