Tremors felt in Mumbai, western parts of M'rashtra

The earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale occurred at 17 hours 21 minutes and 24 seconds, the Met office said here. The earthquake originated in Koyna region at latitude of 17.2 degree North and Longitude of 73.8 degree East.

Tremors were felt in Sangli, Osmanabad, Ratnagiri and Satara districts, while minor shocks were felt in Mumbai suburbs and Pune. In Mumbai, a number of people felt the mild tremors, and came out of their buildings and the weather office and police control room received several calls. There were, however, no immediate reports of any damage to life or property due to the earthquake.
