Two die in Madhya Pradesh temple stampede

At least two people were killed and 17 injured Saturday in a stampede at a Madhya Pradesh temple, police said.

Two people, including a woman, died after falling from the stairs of the Salkanpur Devi temple, Rehti police station in-charge S.C. Panchal told IANS over phone.

The temple is perched atop a mountain near Rehti town in Sehore district, about 70 km from here.

The injured have been taken to hospital.  The stampede took place when the devotees were returning from the temple, police said.
