In Lakhimpur, a 13-year-old girl was raped and murdered by a youth in Singahi area.
One Kamlesh Rana raped the girl in Uma village on the night of August 19 and when the victim raised an alarm he strangled her, they said.
In CSM Nagar, a 14-year-old a deaf and dumb girl was raped in Rani ka Purwa village in Jamo area.
The police has lodged an FIR in this connection and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
