Following two separate complaints of ragging filed against a third semester student of fashion technology and a final year student of fashion design, these students have been asked to stay off the campus,  Director NIFT, Gandhinagar, Nitesh Vyas, said.

The two incidents of alleged ragging at the premier fashion institute were reported last week. In both incidents, girl students were allegedly ragged, the official added.

According to National Institute of Fashion Technology officials, in one such incident, one of the third semester students allegedly stopped two girls from leaving the campus which made them miss their bus. One of the girls was from Delhi and her local guardian filed a complaint with the NIFT authorities.

In another incident, the final semester student had allegedly commented on the dress code of a girl. The boy told the girl to wear salwar suit.

The NIFT has a seven-member anti-ragging squad.
