New Delhi: Senior officer of the Indian Legal Service (ILS) Udaya Kumar Shetty has been appointed as Member Secretary in the Law Commission of India.
The appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the appointment. He assumed the charge of new position on Friday.
Shetty earlier served as Additional Secretary in the Legislative Department of Ministry of Law and Justice.
Native of Heggunje Village of Brahmavara Taluk of Udupi district, Shetty served more than 25 years in various capacities in the Union Ministry of Law and Justice.
